This was my second choice for the Algonquin College bar/lounge logo. The project had specified that a wordmark would not be enough, and that a symbol that could be used on its own should be part of the design. However my teacher liked it so much that he allowed me to submit two logos to the contest. Not sure which one I like better, maybe this one slightly more.
