A good example of reworking a painting way too much. I began this one in the beginning of 2009, worked hard on it, gave up on it for a while, worked on it again, reworked it more, and more, and more... and finally ended up with what you see here. Let's just say that painting fire is a challenge...
Still not entirely satisfied, but decided to let it stand as it is.

Yeah it's a penguin. I wanted to paint a firebird, but then I watched the movie 'March of the Penguins' and was struck by the thought that any creature able to survive in the coldest place on the planet must be part furnace. So fire penguin is was.
